confuse

I’m in the middle, perplexed by my feelings. It cause no pain but some sort of mix-up between sugar and salt. Due to uncertainty, I guess.

For the past few months, witnessing many changes occuring in people around me was truly an eye opener. After riding on waves, we will finally know what stays and what goes. Once, a teacher told me that God had plans for us. I believe in it. Now, even more.

What I’m doing now whether it’s right or wrong, I really don’t know. So much so that I wish a crystal ball appear in front me right now. By then, I’m able to see the future and stop all my concerns and discomfort.

Holding tight, bL!nk$t@R.

Are you so over “Over The Rainbow?” Can’t survive another round of “I Will Survive?” Fatigued from “Dancing Queen”? Don’t worry, we are here to give your favourite queer anthems a thrilling new twist.

From Judy Garland to Village People, from RuPaul to Ning Baizura, without our queer icons the pop universe would have been devoid of glitter. They teach us to dance to our tears, to fight back the hate, and to unleash our inner Dorothy. Their songs unite us in a worldwide celebration of every shade of love, from tragic to campy to bitchy.

Bringing a Malaysian splash to this unfettered spirit of camp audacity, Seksualiti Merdeka is proud to present “Rainbow Massacre”, two nights of songs and comedy by some of KL’s best entertainers: Joanne Kam, Jit Murad, Mia Palencia, Shanon Shah, Zalina Lee, Fang Chyi, Maya Tan, Melvin Ho & Friends, with emcees Edwin Sumun & Fahmi Fadzil.

A morning rise from bed followed by a sad news. Yasmin Ahmad, the much acclaimed film director had passed away. It was heartaching. She’s a person of great talent, passion and vision. Once, I even thought of working alongside with her in the advertising industry. Whatsoever, she will always be my inspiration.

I guess some of the people will be wondering what I’m up to this whole week as I disappeared from the online scene. This period of time was spent at work from 9 to 5 plus a couple of trainings for the upcoming run in the evening. By the time the night falls, I need to hit the sack desperately.

* * * *

Last night was a momentous milestone for me. I managed to finish the 11.5 km race and what makes me even proud was I finish earlier than my targeted time. This was my foremost experience running in the women open category, competing with those pro runners especially those from the Pacesetters Club. Gosh, it was pretty scarry. 1 hour before the race, I was so demotivated and my minds are filled with doubt. Everyone seems to be an ace runner to me judging by the way they dressed up with those running gears as well as their relaxing approach towards this run.

The night scene in Putrajaya was superb. I was lazing under the blue sky before the flag off. You will be amazed by the panorama. One thing I’ve learned: when you can run faster than those guys who are in good shape,  this is already an achievement and you are one step nearer to success by now. Very soon, I promised to be out there to scale new heights.

Results have been released and a new semester will begin tomorrow. Things that ought to be done were accomplished and each day during the break was spent wisely. With a renewed spirit, I’m off to a brand new start.

Gearing up for the next task, bL!nk$t@R.

A never ending list July 16, 2009

I was looking at a card and digesting every single word printed on it. Tears filled my eyes.

Today, 16 July 2009 is my dad’s birthday.

Should I say I have too many things to write that’s why I don’t know what to write or I just do not have the courage to pen down those words?

Looking at the card, mixed feelings started to pour in. 1 month ago when father’s day was just around the corner, I weeped too while driving back alone. Memory flashback takes its place. I start to reminisce almost everything about my dad-his words and wisdom, the things that he had done.

He is a man of few words. I, was very much similar to him in terms of character. Just like me, he is a passionate creature. It is obvious that I inherited it from him. He could work relentlessly, putting in maximum time and effort to realise the things he thought of without expecting any reward even though it eats in to his own personal time. Sometimes, to the extent where he forgoes the enjoyment of life. My mum and I was not able to understand. Later on, I managed to figure it out because it was exactly the same thing that occurred to me during secondary school. It’s like we are addicted to it and it’s really difficult to quit unless we undergo long term ‘rehabilitation’.

I guess the list on the reasons to thank him will be an extremely long one or it probably never ends. It was him who made it possible for me to pursue my tertiary education. It was him who enables me to meet so many amazing people in my life. It was also him who allows me to be one step closer to my dream. Just solely based on this few things, it’s sufficient for me to thank him for a lifetime.

Many things come and go. One thing for sure, my dad is working hard to be a better father each day. I witnessed it. Like what people always say, parenting is the hardest job ever. So, what more could I ask when I’m blessed with all these? I can’t imagine how my life is without him as my father.

With my utmost gratitude, may God bless him along the way. Happy birthday, dad!

My life will be difficult without dad, bL!nk$t@R.

It is WC’s birthday today. I made a promise to celebrate his day at a nice restaurant. So there we are, at Fullhouse Cafe. The MiNi car is darn cool. Basically, it’s a lovely and pleasant place to be in.

It’s winter July 6, 2009

It’s winter

Dumped the faith

I was no longer there

swearing to walk past the bleak future

and never come back

The road is snowy

Shivering and blurred

No one was there

to offer a warm blanket

Deep down inside

the soul has lost its glow, lustre

It takes a mountain of courage

to fight back

A grueling hurdle

it will be

how far I still need to walk

pondering heavily now

Saving the world is in vain

if

this minute life can’t even be sustained

Inspiration: In the midst of chucking out the past. If we are unable to surpass our own inner hurdle, the incoming life obstacles will not be made easy.

Awaiting winter, bL!nk$t@R.

Rainforest World Music Gathering July 5, 2009

The car park at IKEA is just wonderful. Spacious, clean and most of all cheap parking rates. I don’t think you can find that elsewhere. IKEA’s boss is just brilliant. The management practiced what they preached and customers needs and welfare are always being placed in the forefront. That is how their income kept flowing in despite economic downturn.

P7030261

I will always make an effort to stop by IKEA’s cafe and restaurant whenever I’m over there. The place is often packed with people over the weekends. Simply because their food are irresistible and affordable. Don’t miss out the curry puff!

Here is the peak of the outing. The Rainforest World Music Gathering which comprises performances from Bantus Capoiera, Diplomats of Drum, KL Stompers, Tugu Drum Circle and so on. No singing, purely music beats and that’s sufficient to make you go high.

No monday blues July 2, 2009

No monday blues for this week. The day began with an action-packed afternoon-badminton.

After sweating it out, it was time for yum cha at the mamak stall. Yup, roti canai for tea time.

Tuesday was Transformer’s day. The very much anticipated one. I wonder why everyone is so crazy over this movie. So, everyone went into the virtual world and hoping that the cars on the road will somehow transform into Optimus Prime or Decepticons after watching the show. The boys like it. For me who is not into robotics, an OK will do.

Let’s get back into the real world. So, food again. This time, the Beggar’s Chicken.

I must say that this morning’s weather was perfect. It was after rain, no sunlight with some cooling sensation. The perfect day started with a sumptuos breakfast-Bah Kut Teh with an orang. Too much meat though.

Next up, we were loitering at the shopping mall and that’s it.

So far so good, bL!nk$t@R.
