The book ‘Master your mind, Design your destiny’ by Adam Khoo is a self help book for people who is still struggling to achieve what they desire in life. There is one special part about this book namely the chapter on” Patterns of Excellence”. Basically, all of us have the same hardware i.e. intelligence, creativity an so on. Many people tend to blame God for not giving them a better brain thus feeling that they are less smart compared to the others. As a result, they gave up. This is a common thing. Some even think that luck plays a major role in influencing a person’s success. Wrong! That’s the word.

In Anthony Robbins book titled Unlimited Power, he uses a table as as metaphor for our beliefs. An idea represents a table top with no legs. Over time, we will have evidence to support our idea and it is similar to adding legs to the table top. Soon, when sufficient legs (evidences) are added, a solid table (a strong belief) is produced. For example, people who felt that they are useless will always find evidences to support their beliefs, e.g. when they are incapable of doing things well.

How to change any belief?

  • Find enough reason to change the belief
  • Challenge the ‘evidences’ that support the belief
  • Create a new empowering belief
  • Create new evidences to support this belief
  • Associate all the benefits of having this new belief
So, break the ‘legs’ of the negative belief about yourself and start a new journey full of hope! Believing is not enough. Take action!!
